King of Wands
Guardian of Fire
The King of Wands is the ruler of fire. He is forceful
and aggressive. In fact, the King of Wands won’t hesitate to employ a
scorched earth policy if he needs to make a point. He understands the
cleansing, purifying power of fire, along with the renewal that will
inevitably follow.
He stands behind an iron ring of fire; if you want to
approach him directly, you’ll have to pass through the flame. The copper
shield behind him, like a solar disc, hints at an unseen sun — but here in
the salamanders’ underground kingdom, it reflects the light of subterranean
passions and ideals.
While the King of Wands is the master and commander of
fire, he has experience with the other three elements, too. The handle of
his torch has four colors — green, yellow, blue, and red — to symbolize
earth, air, water, and fire.
The king wears a crown with seven rays — one for each
day of the week. Underneath his ceremonial robe, however, he’s the elemental
creature of fire that could most easily pass for human. He’s wearing an
ordinary shirt and trousers.
