Ruler of Water

The King of Cups, like King Neptune, is the ruler of his underwater domain — and his trident and three-pronged crown are evidence of his reign. His white beard and white hair signify his wisdom and experience.

Oceans rise and fall at his command, and all the animals of surf and sea respond to his call. He can raise storms and hurricanes. He can stir whirlpools of grave confusion. He can also raise his trident above the surface, and call on the forces of air and fire to bear down upon the waves.

The creatures of the sea surround him at all times, like bodyguards and soldiers. He’s not afraid to make a show of his authority: he wears earrings, pendants, cuffs, and a brass belt with a massive shield.

His silver goblet, the emblem of his realm, is inscribed with glyphs for the water signs of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.
